Gather at Avila

Staying at Gather at Avila is an ultimate beach experience. At the home's main level is a bedroom with ensuite, the great room, dining and kitchen areas. The open living spaces opens to the oversized terrace with the Bbq center, or relax in the outdoor furniture taking in Avila's warm days with the site and sounds of wave watching.

The great room features a beautiful rock fireplace and 14' vaulted ceilings. The kitchen is defined by a large 8 ft granite island with ample seating for conversation and informal snacking. This combination of spaces allows everyone to belly-up, kick back, bbq, hob-nob and share the day's adventures while watching the chef whips up taste morsels. Off of the kitchen are a huge well-stocked pantry and spacious laundry room.

While the main level encourages gatherings and fun, there are two more decks with big ocean views. A smaller deck is off the master bedroom. The 18' x 14' master deck also has with mini kitchenette. The roof deck is perfect for sunset margaritas or a chilled glass of chardonnay from the fridge while you bbq spicy local sausages and k-bobs. The roof deck is accessed by a user-friendly interior stairway. Up top the view is Avila panoramic.

The master bedroom features a granite bath and walk-in shower, windows with views of the ocean, a king bed and large walk in closet. The other two upstairs bedrooms each have window seats from which you can look out over the golf course across the street, and all of the upstairs rooms are vaulted and spacious. One of the upper bedrooms features a queen bed and the other a bunk bed and separate single for the kids. Every window offers views of classic Avila: the surrounding hills, the distant hotel, the homes above the beach, and the beach side shops and restaurants.

The downstairs bedroom opens out to a small patio and the green beauty of the golf links across the street.

Although the bathroom openings are not wheel chair accessible width, there are stair lifts from the garage to the main level and from the main level to the second floor.

The two car garage below is large enough to easily hold two vehicles and there is room for two more vehicles onsite just off of beach colony lane. There is an outdoor shower to rinse the salt water and sand from body and wet suits. You can pack the wagon with folding chairs, ice chest, blankets, boogie boards and umbrella for the short stroll to the sand. There is a variety of beach toys from which to choose as well. If you get to beach and forgot your camera the walk back to the house takes all of three minutes. The terminus for the Avila trolley which runs to shell beach and back is just out the front door, and the bob jones bike trail starts just across the street and runs to slo, shell, and the five cities. You can literally walk across the street and bike to rural wineries and city shops and restaurants.

  The house was in a fabulous location - close to the little town, the beach, activities like kayaking and biking. Also only a few minutes away from both Pismo Beach and SLO. Absolutely great for all five kids age 3 to 14. One especially loved the aquarium, all loved the beautiful beach. We all loved the small town feel and are glad we stayed here instead of Pismo Beach! I can't say enough about what a pretty town this is and what a great location this house is in.

  We loved our stay here . The location is perfect , close to the beach, trails & an easy drive to SLO for our son’s graduation. The home has everything you need & a fantastic kitchen for cooking & a very large dining table which was great for our family dinners. My mother is 90 & used the chair lift to enjoy the roof deck & views. The beach in Avila is wonderful & 2 blocks away!

  This is our 8th visit at this property and we will come again. Perfect for us : a group of 5 couples who met at UCSB many years ago. We love the floor plan. The main room is huge and works great for our group. Comfortable beds and a new Wolf stove! The location is close to everything Avila: walking trail, Golf,Beach, and downtown restaurants and shops. The rooftop seating area has a Beautiful ocean view and fire pit. We will be back!!! (PS we reported 2 minor maintenance issues and they were promptly fixed)

  This is a beautiful home with a lot of space for extended family, kids and grandkids. The ping pong table and the miniture golf was a hit with the grandkids. The only improvement i would suggest would be to update the pans for cooking on that beautiful Wolf stove.

  This was our sixth time to rent this beautiful home. We are a group of 10 friends who get together on an annual basis. The home is perfect for our needs. It is well stocked and in a great location. Loved the fire pit on the rooftop terrace. We enjoyed having ping pong, corn hole and a putting green. We had a minor maintenance issue and 7 sisters reacted quickly to fix the problem. We hope to be back!

  The house was great for 6 adults and 2 little ones. Perfect location, beach was super close, and walking distance to everything at Avila Beach. We did go on probably one of the hottest weekends of the year and found out fast that there was no A/C, note to self do not go on the hottest weekend. Would stay here again though, had the beach equipment, loved the corn hole and putting green and ping pong table, made family memories.

  My husband and I were very happy with our was the perfect choice for us and our family. We were in town for our daughters wedding and so we had a few of the wedding party staying with us also. The house was so well stocked with anything we might have needed, so clean and well furnished. The proximity to our wedding venue at See Canyon Fruit Ranch and to the cute Avila Beach front are couldn't have been any better! Easy check in and out was appreciated.   Beautiful house in Avila Beach with a 2 block walk to the sand. We went to celebrate a graduation with a few guests at a nearby hotel but gathered at the beach house and it was perfect! Plenty of space to visit, cook, relax, etc.. 4 stars instead of 5 because of a few frustrating glitches for a house that big: not enough small plates in a house that’s meant for gatherings/celebrations, the street noise from Avila Beach Dr. on a weekend at night was loud and it was so hot we needed windows open, 3 bathrooms and the house came with 3 rolls of toilet paper.
