Enjoy amazing views of the beach, white water, and pier from this darling early 1900's cottage. Newly renovated with great attention to detail, you will love relaxing in our home away from home. Every inch of the cottage was remodeled with state of the art appliances, views from the entire main living area & kitchen, and a large bathroom with pedestal sink & a charming claw foot tub/shower combo. Plenty of off street parking, a large deck on which you may take in the views and a patio with fire pit allow you to live comfortably inside and out. With the beach only a half block away, it's literally your backyard! The house is 100 ft from the beach!

Monthly rentals available: October, November, January-May. Rental period begins on 1st of month. Hold over days are nightly seasonal rate.

Suitability: Monthly Renters Welcome, children welcome, non smoking only, pets not allowed, wheelchair inaccessible, ocean views, charming cottage, downtown

*The Avila Beach area is undergoing several construction projects, including the construction of a new home at a neighboring lot. Even though SLO County noise ordinance is enforced, from time to time guest may experience construction noise.

  This cottage is better than pictures can provide. It's a must stay for any couple or small family. One block from the Avila (strip) and beach, morning view of the ocean and every amenity you need to feel at home. We purchased fresh fish from Merseas 2 of the 4 nights and cooked. The kitchen is perfect and the view of the sunset deserves homecooked dinners with wine. No reason to go out. This little cottage has all of the offerings you need. If it's available for our next trip in, it will be booked.

  The house & location are amazing!
  The management was organized & very responsive! The toilet was making an odd sound & they sent someone over straight away to take a look at it. They also sent someone to take the trash cans in/out for us - the owner’s rule book requires their guests to do that chore.
  The new “Owner’s Parking” spot in the driveway (making guests tandem park) is obnoxious & entitled. If the owner’s show up unannounced & park, they are all the way into the property which feels invasive & can easily see guests walking through to the laundry/bathroom, in parts of the outdoor space & inside the house bedrooms & showering when the windows are open. Doesn’t feel safe knowing unidentified people can show up anytime & be in your space. The house is darling & nicely equipped, with the exception of the sofa. It is oddly noisy when you sit or move around on it & doubly so when opened up for a bed.

Don't let the square footage concern you; this place never felt cramped due to the great layout and numerous windows that flood the home with light and fresh ocean breezes.

  This was our second time staying at this place with the family. It is perfect for us with only 2 kids. Great views, well stocked with beach supplies and easy parking. The location is key and you are a short walk to the beach and all the shops. As of this review they have just broken ground on construction directly across the street. While we were there there wasn't a lot of activity but there was some early morning equipment moving around. Just something to consider. We will definitely be back here in the future.

  My husband and son and I had a wonderful stay at the Cottage By The Sea. The house was cozy, comfortable, bright, and so well equipped with everything from kitchen to beach supplies. The proximity to the beach and restaurants/shops of Avila Beach was so convenient, but we loved the view of the ocean from the house and the fun fireplace deck seating so much that we often just stayed home. Exactly as in pictures, but the authentic, home-like feel in person was beyond expectations. Sparkling clean with excellent amenities - great use of small space with large kitchen, large bathroom, great indoor and outdoor gathering spaces, and state of the art laundry.

  We stayed at 54 San Luis the entire month of October and loved every minute of it. Due to the length of our stay, it was easy for us to settle in and feel just like locals. Our morning beach walks were always pleasant and one day even rewarded us with whale watching from the shore. Of course, nothing beats watching the sun go down while sipping a glass of wine on the deck.
  
  This beach house is well furnished and stocked. It’s good to know in advance that we don’t need to bring certain necessities. We have stayed here for several years and continue to appreciate that every year there are always improvements being made. The owners obviously love this place.
  
  As always, the management team was quite attentive and courteous. I requested some additional utensils and batteries for remotes. It seemed like they were at the door (full of smiles and positivity) to deliver shortly after I hung up the phone. They were also very courteous and considerate in scheduling installation of a new dishwasher.
  
  We are repeat customers and intend to continue the trend.

  We really enjoyed our stay!! The house was really clean, very cheerful and decorated nicely. I loved the location one block from the beach but private. The view of the backyard with ample seating and a fire pit was so fun and still private. We had a problem with the dishwasher and I called and Seven Sister sent the cleaning crew over to check the dishwasher and they cleaned all the dishes by hand and put them away. Very response to our call. The beds are very comfortable so we slept well. We also appreciated the well appointed bathroom with a great shower!! Couldn't find the hairdryer though. The parking is ample and convenient! The laundry room was so nice that I loved doing our laundry even on vacation! I would highly recommend this house and I would rent again for sure. The app to check in and out was so easy. Seven Sisters is very organized. Avila Beach has very few restaurants so if you want to walk to the restaurants make a reservation before you start your vacation.

  My family and I have stayed here twice now on vacation and we absolutely love it. The house feels like home with an energy and comfortability that makes you not want to leave. It's perfectly positioned to walk steps to the beach and to the main town center. Great kitchen and patio/BBQ for us cooks to create and entertain. We are looking forward to staying again next year.   This is an incredible cottage for your stay in Avila. Steps from the beach and the shops. Off street parking is very easy. The cottage had to many amenities to list.   Great location! Beautiful home! You won't be disappointed. The only thing missing was a comforter on the beds and a real bathroom cabinet. The pedal stool sinks are great but nonfunctional. I kept dropping all my bathroom stuff! The outside heat lamp would have been great cause the nights were cold. Didn't work and the house manual said it wouldn't. Kind of a tease. Seriously, folks, this place is great!!! Book it, Dano... Oh, don't forget your pillows, cause when they send them back to you they are the wrong ones. Look forward to going again!!   Wow, is the first word I can think of in discribing this property. The extraordinary view, outdoor space, and the cottage vibe was all we could have ask for. It was perfect for our 4 grand children, walking on the beach, having a drink at Mr. Rick's, dinner, and viewing and listening to the ocean pounding on the beach. The only problem we had was taking a shower. The bath/shower combo is very cute but we had a very hard time getting in and out of since it does not have a place to hold on to. The curtains surrounding the tub was awkward while showering.

  We love coming to this place. This is our fourth year at this beautiful cottage in Avila. We started coming here when the Lewis family was renting it. We love it. I'm giving the cleaning a 3* this trip because a few items were missed and we had to do the cleaning. Underneath the bed, sofa, living room carpet and under appliances were not cleaned or swept and the floors were not mopped. We had to wash the bedspread because it had a smell and I am a germaphobe. Although the management company offered to re clean, we decided to not be inconvenienced and had already cleaned it ourselves. We asked for a refund on the cleaning deposit but never heard back. Overall, the stay was quite enjoyable and as always, this place feels like our second home. I think that is why we feel so passionate about how people that stay here use the property. Definitely will be back again can't beat the views and the ocean sounds at night.

  We spent a month at this beautiful little cottage in Avila Beach. This is our tenth time doing a one-month coastal rental since retirement 5 years ago, so we have a good basis for comparison. Of all the places we have stayed, we like this the best in terms of feeling like home. It seemed like ANYTHING we needed was already there. The kitchen was magnificently stocked including utensils, paper products and spices. (I usually travel with my favorite knives and spices, which was totally unnecessary.) Our only dilemma was in choosing WHICH set of dishes we should use for our company.
  
  The outdoor area is wonderful for entertaining. We especially loved watching sunsets from the deck. Of course, on cool evenings, we could have the same wonderful view inside from the living room.
  
  We appreciated the owners’ attention to detail which was reflected everywhere we looked. All appliances were great. Local reading material, games, wifi, cable TV service were all provided. Any possible needs or questions were immediately addressed by 7 Sisters management team.
