Sunsetter - 305Fir

*The Avila Beach area is undergoing several construction projects, including the construction of a new home at a neighboring lot. Even though SLO County noise ordinance is enforced, from time to time guest may experience construction noise.

SUNSETTER is a 2 minute walk to the beach and downtown Avila Beach. The condo is located in one of the best gated community locations - Ocean 17. Entering the home at street level, there is a large jr suite (queen bed+twin/sleeper chair) with fireplace, TV, walk-in closet, and en suite bathroom. Also at street level is the 2 car garage and full size laundry center. Up a flight of stairs is the main living area with fireplace, gourmet kitchen with stainless-steel Viking appliances, breakfast bar and master suite.

From the kitchen is panoramic mountain views with balcony. The front balcony has a propane BBQ, and seating for 2. The front balcony is located off the kitchen making it convenient for meal prep and serving. Just off the living room is another balcony with a spiral staircase that leads to a spacious rooftop deck with mountain views and ocean view. The rooftop is perfect for lounging or entertaining. The BBQ center has a built-in mini refrigerator, gas BBQ.

SUNSETTER is a corner unit in the complex, once the builder's private unit with many extra touches and amenities. A 2 minute walk to the beach, and easy stroll to Avila Beach Golf Course and Bob Jones biking and walking trail.

  The unit is very comfortable and had everything we needed. It was very well stocked with all that we needed. Access to the beach and the stores is very convenient and close. The only problem we was access into and out of the garage for the second car. The entrance is very close to the gate and there were trash cans obstructing the entrance to the garage. There were a few minor repairs I needed while we were there. They were handled within a very short time by maintenance.

  The Sunsetter - 305 Fir was perfect. The unit exceeded our expectations! It was well maintained and was well stocked with everything we needed. In particular the kitchen had as many gadgets and tools that we have at home. We golfed two mornings and also visited local sites. The charming downtown was steps away, too! We hope to come back--it was the perfect little getaway!

  We had a wonderful little get-a-way weekend at our stay at Sunsetter in Avila Beach. The views from the home are wonderful. We enjoyed the use of the kitchen, BBQ and played cards on the upper deck. In the morning we'd wake up and take the 1 minute walk down to Kraken Coffee which was excellent. Our host Terri was excellent and extremely responsive. A very relaxing and enjoyable stay.

  Our family had a great stay at this property, we loved the location to the beach, great restaurants and coffee shop. The condo is clean and well equipped and included paper & kitchen supplies which is something you don't always see at other properties. The only downside was the beds, they are very soft and we unfortunately would not return for this very reason. I think the mattresses are due an upgrade! Sleep is so important especially when you are on vacation!

  Overall things were fine. I felt pressured by the notice to report any deficiencies immediately and the labels in every cabinet and drawer with the number of plates, glasses, utensils, etc. Almost every count was short so i spent 30 mins counting and documenting the shortages. Many of the missing items turned up in different drawers vs where the labels were. I called to report it as well as stains and damage - nothing serious - and they said they were aware and don't worry about it. If I don't need to worry about it, why label it all and send the email warning about reporting anything wrong immediately?
  
  I sent a couple of emails about issues including one about a lost AirPod and received no response from the management company so don't expect them to respond to emails.
  
  The unit was well furnished and quite comfortable with a great rooftop deck with views of the ocean. The location was great although a bit noisy with all the traffic around. It was very nice to be a block from the beach and hear the waves at night. And great to be a short walk to a general store, restaurants, coffee shop, .... You really don't ever need to get in your car.
  
  The unit has a great Marantz receiver with surround sound but no instructions on how to use it so I assume the owner does not want renters to use it. And I was suprised that such a high end unit did not have a Bluray player or even a DVD player. I brought some films to watch so I was disappointed.
  
  I would definitely stay here again and bring one of my Blu-ray players.

  Everything we expected and more. The rental was stocked with items we were told to bring (beach chairs, hair dryer, kitchen equip, etc). The location was perfect two blocks from the beach and away from foot traffic. The upper patio had a nice view. Plexiglass would have been very nice vs wood railing. Mattress are old and sagging. Otherwise very nice rental. 7 sisters was avail to handle our issues. If you have physical limitations this may not be for you. Stairs to main floor and patio are steep. Was a chore to carry luggage and supplies (bad knees)!

  We had a wonderful time in Avila Beach. The condo is in a great location (Very close to the beach and the town but not noisy) and we could hear the ocean while we were falling asleep which is wonderful!!! We had a pretty good view of the ocean too from the living room, the master bedroom, the rooftop deck (which we loved) and the deck off the living room. Everything was in good order and super clean. The beds were very comfortable and the kitchen was well equipped. We’d go back in a heartbeat!!
